Qur’an Curriculum

The foundation of our education at AHES, and our core purpose, is to teach our students the Book of Allah.

We believe that the Quran is the final message of Allah to mankind and that it is the main source of happiness and well-being in Deen and Dunya; therefore, every student, in every grade, has a Qur’an class every day.

Our Qur’an curriculum includes:

  • Starting from Casa, students are taught Al-Qa’edah An-Nooraniyyah alongside memorization of selected surahs from the 30th Juz
  • The students learn the meaning of the main vocabulary of the Surahs in addition to understanding the general meaning of the verses.
  • Our students are encouraged to reflect on the valuable messages of the Qur’an and on enacting those messages in their daily lives.
  • Students in grades 4-8 at Al Huda Elementary celebrate Fridays by dedicating their Qur’an period for their “Free Reading Program” of the Quran. Each class starts from Al Fateha and reads until they achieve their goal which is completing the recitation of the whole Qur’an by June.
  • While exploring the recitation of different surahs of the Qur’an students get the chance to understand the meaning of certain passages where lessons are prominent and enriching.

Every student benefits during Qur’an class according to their own level, those who are fluent will improve on their tajweed and recitation, and those who are beginners will be assisted to push their fluency furthermore.

Arabic Curriculum

From Casa to grade 5 we use أحبُّ اللغة العربية series (I Love Arabic), and from 6-8 our teachers teamed up and compiled our own Quranic Arabic curriculum that serves Quran and Islamic Studies subjects through selective passages from the:

  • Quran
  • Hadith
  • Seerah
  • Companions’ accounts

Our Quranic Arabic curriculum focuses on Akhlaq (manners) and Tarbiyah themes.  It sheds light on the lives of great Muslim characters.
